"Oral storytelling is a powerful way for students to develop their own voices and discover what events and details are essential to their stories."
Response:
I believe that students should read a story out loud before they put a digital story together. They get an understanding of the material before they start producing it. If they start to just make the digital story they could miss important parts because they did not read it before hand and see what they thought was important and not important. Reading the story out loud you get a better insight of the story rather than reading to yourselves. If more than one person are reading it others can see what the other students believe to be the important part of that story.

I agree completely. I really think that the students should first write out a story then tell it orally. It's a great way to see their emtions in the story.
ReplyDeleteReading anything orally is a great way to better understand it. This is a great skill for students to have! Good post!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right! I never really thought about the students reading the stories out loud before putting together a story. That is definitely a great suggestion! Great job!
ReplyDeleteI like this post! I know sometimes I can read something over and over again and not understand it until I actually read it aloud or have some one else read it to me. Good post!
ReplyDeleteI've never really thought about it that way, but you make a good point. They do need the basics of story telling before going into digital story telling. Great post!
